If your dog is not getting enough sleep or getting poor sleep, then your dog will suffer in many of the same ways you would. And since not all homes are the same, we carry a variety of solutions to fit any style or need.

  • Q: What is a dog bed?

A: Dog beds are designed to provide a supportive and comfortable sleeping area for your dog; much like a mattress provides support and comfort for humans. When purchasing a bed for yourself there are certain qualities that you look for. There are also options that you will want to look for when getting a bed for your dog too. Typically you will want bed that will help to elevate the dog from the floor, support their joints, provide warmth, and are easy to clean.

  • Q: How do I determine the proper size of the dog bed to get for my dog?

A: Size is a key characteristic that you will want to consider when purchasing a dog bed. Even if your dog likes to curl up in a small ball to sleep, you will still want a bed with enough space to stretch out on. For anyone wanting to get a single bed for multiple small dogs to share, you will want a considerably large bed to provide enough room for them to rest on together. The bottom line is; you can never get a bed that is too large, but you can get one too small. If it is too small, your pet might not want to use it.

  • Q: What is a heated dog bed and how can it benefit my dog?

A: A heated dog bed is more than just a bed for your dog that is heated. They can also be a very therapeutic aid for older dogs that may develop or already have joint problems. These beds have been designed to elevate your aging friend for optimal comfort, providing additional support to the joints, and are heated for warmth and wellness.

  • Q: What materials can I except to find in dog beds?

A: The materials that can usually be found in a dog bed are rattan, wicker, and/or plastic. Plastics can be found in some of the oval or round baskets, for that added support. Our manufactures use a chew-resistant plastic that has no sharp edges that could potential be hazardous. The wicker and rattan dog beds are also commonly found in the oval or round baskets, to provide extra cushioning. Some of the higher end beds use stainless steel, which is durable and relatively easy to clean.

  • Q: What is the difference between dog beds that uses cedar chips versus ones that use foam?

A: A dog bed that uses cedar chips may not be as comfortable as one that uses a polyester fiber or foam, but it is not without benefit. While foam beds offer additional comfort for your dog, it does not do anything to restrict the population of fleas. Beds that contain cedar chips will help to discourage fleas from laying eggs. Some manufacturers use a zippered outer shell filled with cedar chips to make it easier to refill when necessary.

  • Q: I have a small toy dog. Can I purchase a cat bed for my dog to use?

A: Sure. If the bed is the right size for your dog, a cat bed can also function as a dog bed. However, you might want to keep it a secret from your pooch that the bed was originally designed for a cat. It is important to keep in mind that it is better to get a bed that is too big than a bed that is too small. If the bed is too small, your dog may not use it.

  • Q: I know there are heated pet beds available to keep my pet warm in the winter, but do you have a bed that will keep my pet cool in the summer too?

A: Absolutely! Dogs can also be affected negatively by extreme heat and benefit from a bed with a cooling element. Your dog is not able to take their fur off when it gets too hot outside. For this we carry dog beds that use a refrigerated or a frozen gel pad to help keep them nice and cool. We also have a Due Temp Bed that can provide warmth on cold days and coolness on warmer days, depending on the settings. This is a great buy for anyone living in a climate that has both cold winters and hot summers.
